UbuntuHowtoforge has an excellent tutorial on installing LAMP on Ubuntu. The tutorial is aimed towards beginners or as the site likes to call them “Newbies”.

In this guide I will show you how to install a LAMP system. LAMP stands for Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP. The guide is intended to help those who have very little knowledge of using Linux

I followed the tutorial myself on a test machine and everything installed the way it should. So if your interested in setting up a web server or just like try out new things, I recommend the following how to.

Kubuntu LogoIf you’re anything like me and cant wait to try out the new KDE 4.0 on Kubuntu then wait no longer. The official Kubuntu site has instructions on how to install KDE 4.0 on Kubuntu 7.10

If you want to test KDE 4 without installing packages download the live CD (554MB).

Packages are available for 7.10 (Gutsy) and our development Hardy version. They install to /usr/lib/kde4 and can be installed alongside your existing KDE 3.
